  Love this place! I work in Calvert and there are not many "quick lunch spots" but this little place always provides a good meal. I have started to sample more of the menu, I was stuck on the chicken tenders for a while. I just got the chicken hibachi bowl. It was absolutely amazing! Perfect with their yum yum sauce. They always have quick service and you can call in an order as well.

  Golden Chicken and Japanese Grill has been around since the mid- '90s, their flagship store being this one.  They have two other locations in Lusby and in Lexington Park.
  
  Their menu is pretty extensive, offering daily specials, various appetizers, fried chicken, seafood platters, Japanese grill items (teriyaki bowls, hibachi combos, etc.), soups, salads, sandwiches, sides, and desserts.  Other locations offer Chinese and Thai as well.
  
  We ordered: the Broccoli Poppers (little misshapened fried triangles, filled with chopped-up broccoli and cheese; these came with a side of ranch sauce, which was not really needed; the poppers were crispy and yummy!); a 3-piece chicken combo (we opted for 1 wing and 2 thighs; these came fresh out-of-the-fryer and were super juicy and crispy!  No need for hot sauce, either, although I wished they had Texas Pete!  The only hot sauce that they had were Yi Pin packets of sweet & sour-like sauce that was 'spicy'); a side of mac and cheese (definitely cheesy, but could have been more thicker); a side of mashed potatoes and gravy (this was not good, as the gravy was just not tasty); a biscuit (buttery, soft, and flaky, this biscuit was delicious!); and, Hibachi Steak (served on top of fried rice and comes with a side of grilled zucchini, onions, and carrots; this was tasty! The steak chunks were super large, seasoned well, and the fried rice was stir-fried perfectly; there's unlimited yum yum sauce at the pump station (all 3 pumps offers the yum yum sauce) by the soda machine).
  
  Staff were friendly, and all items are made-to-order.  Your food items are actually delivered to your table, so that was a nice added touch for a fast-casual eatery!
  
  Definitely a great local spot to get your fried chicken and your hibachi craving satisfied!
  
  Plenty of seats and plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot at the Fox Run Shopping Center.

  Golden Chicken has amazing food. When I come here I know I'm going to have an amazing meal regardless of what I get. The cooks smile and wave at me every time I come in. Hands down my favorite place to get food!!!!

  I used to love this place, key word USED to. I am still holding out hope that they'll fix it but the last three or four times I've gone, everything has been disgustingly under cooked. The shrimp AND the chicken were slimy and the fries taste like roach spray. Super disappointed in them.

  All my trips have always been okay at Golden Chicken but recently I went and got home to see my hibachi chicken had about 3 oz or less of chicken in it. Only writing because I'm actually triggered.
